Service Description
Hi, everyone! I received thoughtful feedback from yesterday’s class on finding the right story for scholarship essays. While many found clarity in shaping their narrative, a recurring concern came up: some people still don’t know what they want to pursue. This is more common than we think. Graduate studies (or a master’s degree) are different from previous levels of education. They often represent your first intentional academic direction after spending time exploring a field beyond undergraduate exposure. It’s less about continuing what you studied before, and more about deepening an interest you’ve come to understand more clearly. Some people choose a path that differs from their undergraduate major, and that is completely valid. Work experience often provides perspectives that formal education doesn’t—revealing gaps, interests, or even a sense of purpose that wasn’t visible before. Sometimes, people don’t “switch fields”; they simply discover what they care about later, and that discovery matters. Not knowing yet doesn’t mean you’re unprepared. It usually means you’re still paying attention. About the Class I hold a background in Communication Studies from Universitas Indonesia (UI), with formal training in research design through a course at National University of Singapore (NUS). I am also trained in coaching techniques under Erickson Coaching International. The session will run for 2 hours, fully online, with a maximum of 20 participants. This is a discussion-heavy and reflective class, not a passive lecture. Class Objectives This class is designed to help you move from uncertainty to clarity—not by forcing a decision, but by understanding how academic interests actually form. This class is not about writing an essay. It’s about choosing an academic direction you can actually commit to. By the end of this class, participants will be able to: - Understand the difference between choosing a major and choosing an academic interest - Identify areas of curiosity that have consistently appeared across study, work, or life experience - Recognize which issues or questions they want to explore more deeply at the graduate level - Select one primary major (and an alternative) that feels intentional, realistic, and sustainable Class Details Date: 8 February 2026 Time: 14.00 – 16.00 WIB Format: Online Participants: Max. 20 people Fee: IDR 222.000 / person This class will not be recorded. I appreciate and respect everyone’s privacy.
